MAY QUEEN (2012) Synopsis/Wiki/Plot

Hae-Joo's father, an oil scholar, is betrayed and killed by Do-Hyun (Lee Deok-Hwa). Do-Hyun, who loves Hae-Joo's mother Geum-Hee (Yang Mi-Kyeong), then orders Gi-Chool (Kim Kyu-Cheol) to kill 2-year-old Hae-Joo, but Gi-Chool can't go through with it.
Gi-Chool takes 2-year-old Hae-Joo and tells others that he is taking her to the beach. He makes it appear Hae-Joo drowns by the beach, but in actuality, takes Hae-Joo to live with his old military acquaintance Hong-Chul (Ahn Nae-Sang). Unaware of all this, Hae-Joo's mother marries Do-Hyun, who has two children from a previous marriage.
11 years later, Hae-Joo (later played by Han Ji-Hye) and her family arrive in the city of Ulsan, running away from debtors. Hae-Joo takes care of the family, instead of her incompetent father and mother who hates Hae-Joo. She is transferred to the same elementary school where Do-Hyun's daughter In-Hwa (later played by Son Eun-Seo) attends. On Hae-Joo's first day at her new school, she has a physical struggle with In-Hwa. Due to their fight, In-Hwa's mother Geum-Hee is called in to the school and she sees Hae-Joo (her daughter that she thought drowned).

ARANG AND THE MAGISTRATE (2012) Synopsis/Wiki/Plot

Set in the Joseon Dynasty period, a female ghost (Shin Min-A), who was murdered, appears in front of a government official (Lee Joon-Gi) and pleads for the man to punish her murderer. The government official then attempts to appease her wishes.
The drama is based on famous folklore, as most ghost stories are: During the Joseon era in the city of Miryang, Arang was the pure, beautiful, goodhearted daughter of a magistrate. She grew up without a mother and was raised by a wicked caretaker who conspired to have her raped and ruined by a servant. He attacked and she resisted, so he stabbed and killed her, and left her body to rot in the woods.
Her father, the magistrate, just believed that she dishonorably eloped with a man and so resigned his position swathed in shame. According to legend, every time a new magistrate comes to Miryang to fill the position, Arang’s vengeful ghost shows up to tell him her story and he flees in terror.
But one day a new magistrate comes to town — a young man by the name of Lee Eun-oh. Arang appears before him like every other magistrate, but this man doesn’t flee, and instead sympathizes with Arang, and promises to find her killer and avenge her death.

Jae-Hee disguises herself as a boy and enrolls at the all boys Genie Physical Education High School. On her first day at school, Jae-Hee goes up the stairs with her suitcase, but her suitcase bursts open and all her clothes fall out. A boy comes by and helps her pick up her stuff. Jae-Hee realizes that the boy helping her is none other than her idol Tae-Joon. In her excitement, Jae-Hee sits on her suitcase, which proceeds to slide down the stairs.

King Gongmin (Ryu Deok-Hwan), who was held as a hostage in Yuan (China) for an extended period of time, becomes the King of Goryeo (Korea). He married Princess Nogoog (Park Se-Young), who is the Princess of Yuan. Choi Young (Lee Min-Ho) and his men escort King Gongmin and Princess Nogoog from Yuan to Goryeo.
On the way to Goryeo, the group stays at an inn. Assassins then break into the inn and attack their group. During the struggle, Princess Nogoog's neck is slashed by an assassin's sword. Jang Bin (Phillip Lee), who is the most renown doctor in Goryeo, states that he can't save her. If Princess Nogoog dies, Yuan will takeover Goryeo completely. King Gongmin's vassal asks King Gongmin to go pray on a mountain near a mystical source of light. When they get there, they see the mysterious lights swirling around like an entrance to a vacuum. King Gongmin's vassal tells the King that the swirling lights is actually a portal where they can retrieve a great doctor from the heavens. King Gongmin then tasks Choi Young to enter the portal and retrieve the great doctor.
After entering the mystical swirling lights, Choi Young finds himself beneath a statute at a temple. When he leaves the grounds of the temple, Choi Young is confused by the strange sights. He sees modern buildings, contemporary people and automobiles. Choi Young goes back to the temple, which is actually a traditional village area in the middle of present day Seoul, and spots a monk walking by. Choi Young asks the monk where he can find the great doctor. The monk tells Choi Young that at the nearby COEX building, a medical convention is taking place and he can find the best doctors there.

When Kim Woo-Hyun and his team raid the location of the site, the data is destroyed by a program set up by Hades. Nevertheless, Kim Woo-Hyun and his team uses a traceroute to locate Hades.
Meanwhile, an online rumor spreads about a sex scandal involving popular actress Shin Hyo-Jung (Esom). Shin Hyo-Jung leaves the message "I want to die" on her twitter account and then kills herself by jumping out of her apartment. Kim Woo-Hyun and Detective Yoo Gang-Mi (Lee Yeon-Hee), still following the path of Hades, arrives at the actresses apartment and takes her laptop, which Hades hacked.
In the basement parking lot, Detective Yoo Gang-Mi runs into Reporter Park Gi-Young (Daniel Choi). Park Gi-Young asks Detective Yoo Gang-Mi if she is sure actress Shin Hyo-Jung's last tweet was indeed posted by the actress herself? There seems to be a rumor that her last tweet was not actually posted by herself. Detective Yoo Gang-Mi later checks actress Shin Hyo-Jung's laptop and discovers that the tweet was not posted from her laptop. The cyber investigation team now believes another person may have been there when the actress died.

Lee Kang-To, sick of the independence movement, now wants to become successful no matter what. He then becomes a detective.
A month prior to the funeral of Lee Gong, a high ranking officer, Lee Kang-To captures a fighter from the independence movement. His name is Mok Dam Sa Ri (Jeon No-Min). Lee Kang-To is then promoted to a deputy assistant commissioner.
At Lee Gong's funeral, Mok Dan (Jin Se-Yeon) throws a stone at the picture of the deceased high ranking officer. Lee Kang-To and other detectives capture Mok Dan. At this time, the masked Gaksital appears. Gaksital saves Mok Dan from Lee Kang-To and escapes.
Later, Mok Dan is able to attend the trial of Mok Dam Sa Ri and the other fighters from the national independence movement. She then witnesses her father receiving the death sentence. Mok Dan then jumps out and fights Lee Kang-To and the court police to save her father. Mok Dan is captured and again faces Detective Lee Kang-To. Then, Gaksital appears and fights Lee Kang-To. During the skirmish, Mok Dan and her father are able to escape.
